Some views from the authors…

– I thought the Waterstones Local Authors Party at the George IV (above) was an absolutely brilliant evening and everyone I spoke to said the same! It was such a sparkly warm event, and we felt there was a lot of love in the room for all the different authors and our β€œbabies”! We absolutely love the Chiswick Book Festival, and have been to so many great talks over the years. It is fantastic that you were able to hold the live events this year, and I was very honoured to be a part of it all!

– It seems as if the Festival was a HUGE success! Congratulations. Chiswick is truly a special place and it was wonderful to have that incredible Arts and Crafts St Michael and All Angels at the heart of the Festival… and a Green room that was truly a green room! I thought my event at the Orchards House school, incredibly well organised. The venue was perfect for a session that was interactive as well as needing space/tables for doing artwork.

– It was hugely enjoyable and I’m very grateful to you and the volunteers who made sure that everything ran smoothly. It was a privilege to be part of Chiswick Book Festival and I have only positive feedback.

– It was a joy to participate in the Chiswick Book Festival again this year and hats off for making it happen: great atmosphere, excellent events, lovely staff…

– You did a terrific job. I always think the Chiswick Festival is one of the most enjoyable for authors and you attract excellent audiences.

– What a GREAT festival! So glad to take part in something local, and the audience were amazing, really engaged – they must’ve been as they bought loads of books after. More so than at other festivals I’ve been at. It was a great day and the overall vibe was really lovely.

– Thank you from all of us for all your hard work over the past weeks. The festival was brilliant.

… and the parents of Poetry Competition entrants…

– I would like to thank everyone who helped coordinate & bring together the wonderful Children’s Poetry Competition. My son was one of the lucky winners this year. We thoroughly enjoyed coming along to St.Michael’s to receive his commendation & prize. So interesting to see & hear some of the amazing talent our children have to offer. Thank you to the judges & to James Priestman for his very engaging poetry performance!
And lastly, I wanted you all to know what a positive impact winning this competition has had on my dyslexic son. He has started to believe in himself again with a can do attitude. Something that’s been hidden for some time. As a parent I couldn’t have been more proud to see him smile as he received his prize from Clare Balding!

– Fantastic atmosphere…. Clare’s talk afterwards was very enjoyable, the children seemed rapt. She talks to them in a gently attentive manner.  The queue to get books signed was right round the church.

– Just wanted to say a big thank you for S’s prize which she received much to her surprise yesterday. She has worked very hard on her creative writing during lockdown so this was a massive boost to her confidence to receive the certificate and the books. I have just noticed her poem is also on the website so I will get her to share with her school.

– The children were thrilled and Clare Balding was super with them.

…and audience members…

– I just don’t know how you do it. Every festival gets better and better.  I have been looking forward to it for so long, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

– We had a wonderful weekend! On Sunday night we were exhausted but happy!

– Thank you for a really wonderful event! I loved all the choice of different events, types of book, different venues, and different times of day – entertaining, thought-provoking and just a really interesting discussion. We are so lucky to have the festival on our doorsteps – please keep it up!
