12 Noon: Palace of Palms: Tropical Dreams And The Making of Kew
In her acclaimed book, now out in paperback, cultural historian Kate Teltscher tells the human story of the iconic Palm House at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and the men who conceived, realised and maintained it. Chaired by David Shreeve, director of The Conservation Foundation. Read more.
This session is a special collaboration with the Chiswick Flower Market, which is celebrating its first anniversary with a weekend of special events. Come to the talk on Saturday September 4th, then visit the market on Sunday 5th.

7pm-9pm: Waterstone Local Authors Party (at the George IV)
On the eve of the Festival, Torin Douglas and Jo James showcase the wealth of local talent that Chiswick has to offer. 20 authors each have just two minutes to speak about their book, making this a fast-paced, fun and fascinating evening. Presentations are expected to start at 7.15pm, with doors opening at 6.45pm.

Adam Andrusier discusses his acclaimed new book, Two Hitlers and a Marilyn, with Diane Chandler and members of the Chiswickbuzz Book Club at their monthly ‘Words with Wine on Wednesday in W4’ meeting. It’s a comedy coming-of-age memoir about autographs, collecting and celebrity obsession. ‘Hilarious and moving.’ David Baddiel.
