Whatever your faith, or none, Chiswick’s churches are well worth exploring, for their architecture, heritage, history and community activities. Paintings above from the Chiswick Timeline: A History in Art & Maps (best viewed on Chrome). L-r: St Nicholas, Christ Church, St Michael & All Angels, Russian Orthodox Cathedral.

We’re grateful to the following churches for enhancing ‘Exploring Chiswick’ with their own arts and heritage initiatives.
– During Lent, St Michael & All Angels Bedford Park produced daily reflections on its stained-glass windows (above).
– Chiswick’s oldest parish church, St Nicholas Chiswick, published new material about its stained-glass windows and 17th-century Chaloner Monument.
– St Michael’s Elmwood Road (right) invited its parishioners to write in to say why it should be named as Chiswick’s 51st Building (it was one of the two winners).
– St Paul’s Grove Park enhanced its ‘History and literary connections‘ page with information about Dylan Thomas and the films and TV series shot in its Vicarage.
We list a selection of Chiswick’s buildings of worship below, in alphabetical order.
