We invite parents to make a donation, to cover our costs and help our charities – Doorstep Library, InterAct Stroke Support, The Felix Project and St Michael & All Angels Church, which runs the Festival.

We’re Going On a Bear Hunt in Turnham Green Terrace
We put 15 bear book covers in the windows of Turnham Green Terrace shops and asked children to find them and say which was their favourite bear book, and why, and you could win a book prize! Entries closed at 5pm on Thursday September 17th – Age 10 or under – One entry per child.
Thanks to the shops in the Terrace – and to Trotters and Bookcase Chiswick for donating the generous prizes.
Congratulations to the winners: Zoe, Sebastian, James, Aniik and Amelia, who can pick up their prizes from Trotters. You can see some of the prizes for this and our poetry competition on the right.
And these are their favourite books – and why:
1. Winnie the Pooh: I love Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger too;
2. I like honey, Pooh Bear, he’s cute and funny
3. The House at Pooh Corner: Piglet and Pooh work together to make Eeyore a house.
4. Paddington at the Tower: marmalade sandwiches, he does devour them.
5. We’re Going on a Bear Hunt: It’s adventurous and exciting!

9.30am Joshua Seigal: Welcome to My Crazy Life
Packed full of silly, funny, or downright hilarious poems (with some serious ones mixed in), this new collection by Joshua Seigal (winner of the ‘Laugh Out Loud Awards’) is perfect for fans of Michael Rosen. In two videos recorded specially for the Chiswick Book Festival, Joshua reads some of his haikus (sponsored by Blossom Day W4) and unpublished poems.

During lockdown, Rob Biddulph‘s hugely successful videos kept thousands of us entertained and proved that anyone can draw! Join the world record-breaking illustrator and picture-book creator for an exclusive ‘Draw with Rob’ drawalong, revealed especially for the young artists of Chiswick!

9am – Lucy Barnard: Ruby and Graham
Ruby loves fun while Graham loves organising. In their own unique ways, they make sure that Acorn Wood is a beautiful and lively place. But when Graham decides to party all the time like Ruby, the chaos and confusion in the wood gets out of hand. Who will step up to set things right?

9.30am Nicole Prust: The Sloth and the Dinglewot
When Samuel the Sloth feels brave enough to leave his cosy hut, he meets the mysterious Dinglewot. Together they discover incredible places, and Samuel will learn that overcoming fears and doubts means more adventures, friendships and happiness. The book is illustrated by Amanda Enright.
